MacBook Pro Shipping on February 15?

by Chris Seibold Jan 12, 2006

When Steve introduced the MacBook Pro he said it would ship in February. “In February” usually means, in Apple speak, February 31...at the soonest. Basically you take whatever month Apple says the thing will ship in and add a few days on. “In August” means, for example, “first week of September.”

Which is why I was shocked to see my order page had been changed from “February” to “Est.Shipped by February 15.” I’m still not holding my breath but, if the thing shows up before March, I’ll call it Apple being ahead of schedule.

  • Oh come on… Apple said you’d begin seeing Intel chips in mid-2006 and they way overdelivered. Give them something of a break wink

  • Yeah but he also said the FM Tuner was available now, and my order (placed the very next day) says shipping February 9th.
