Apple has sent “fun” invitations to a press event onTuesday, 28 February (US time) and the rumour mills have been working again. This time around they’re saying:

A true, touch screen Video iPod
Unlikely. Even before the image doing the rounds was proven to be a fake, it’s far too close to the release of the last iPod for another one.

Intel Mac Minis
A good possibility, although it’s difficult to see quite where “fun” fits in.

iPod Boom Box / Hi-Fi (basically a set of speakers for your iPod)
Another possibility which I guess could be termed “fun” for music fans, but not really hugely exciting.

We’ll just have to wait and see what happens on Tuesday.  grin
(or Wednesday morning for me.)

Another rumour still doing the rounds is the old Apple Tablet computer ... possibly to leapfrog Microsoft’s Origami project. Only a small time to go and you guys will know (if you don’t already by the time your read this message). grin

You can always get the latest news on Apple releases directly from Apple’s US website: http://www.apple.com straight after their announcement. I usually get the New Zealand pricing and release date emailed from a couple of webstores here in New Zealand within a couple of days.

Anyway, the latest announcements are more “boring” than “fun”:

the Intel Mac Mini
With only a silly Intel graphics chip instead of NVidia or ATI.

iPod leather cover
Yawn!

iPod “boom box”
A big square box with speakers on the front that you can plug you iPod into, and comes with a remote control. It has handles on the side, looks ugly and is over-expensive, even for an Apple product.

I Think the Hi-fi is great product with that design. Simple, but great.
Put the design away, it’s surely an overpriced product. I will not buy it before heard the actual sound of that thing.
If it worth it, maybe i will buy it.

Mac mini change is not really fun eith the Intel Graphic Card. Hope they will change it right away.

Small hope, but still a possibilities
