wow, that’s a really awful design. Why the hell would they put the cords at different leght? That’s the stupidest thing ever.

If they’re anything like one of my sets, the buds are meant to be worn around the back of the neck and head.  That way, one cord comes right up to the ear and the other has to go around the back, which is why it’s longer.

The main benefit of the design is when you take them off temporarily, they can dangle easily around your neck.

The issue with earbuds for me is the general discomfort.  I can’t wear them for very long, and I’ve yet to find a pair that was even remotely comfortable.  I much prefer to “muff” design.

Yeah, I saw a Sony ad in a magazine and the guy in the ad was using the earphones. Now that I see it; it’s not THAT bad.

There is still the issue with the cord disintegrating.

I think I have tried about every type earbug/headphone that seemed to be comfortable but turned out to be totally unusable for one reason or another. I do live sound for bands and a lot of recording stuff.

I finally found some earbugs that are just wonderful. They are Shure E2c and can be found in music stores. The first thing I love about them is that they came with all sort of different types and sizes of foam, rubber and plastic buds. These slide off and on the ear bud easily and make replacement at a later date simple.

I’m currently using the rubber medium set which gives me an unbelievable -35 to -40 db drop in attentuation of external noise. The next great thing is that these ear buds have an extremely flat response from about 140HZ to 15khz. Now when I’m doing a live show I only turn up the volume on the headphone monitor output about 1/3rd of what I normally would have to use to hear anything usable using the standard regular bulky headset.

The next thing I really love is that they stay put when you move around a lot. Once you put them in correctly only forgetting that you wearing them and pulling on the cord will yank them out. The cord is very thick and can be worn either behind or in front of the head.

If your tired of spending money on ear buds that are just cheap junk, feel terrible and cause hearing fagituge these ear buds are the ones you want. They run about $100.00 but are worth every penny when you spend as much time as I’ve spent wearing headphones and ear buds.

Hi folks!

To join this lively show and tell I HAVE to introduce You to a brand maybe unknown to You: KOSS… Theyre doing open and in-ear earpieces and using them with my ipod works like a charm- the sound is really rich and the basses are present as anything without sound enhacements software- wise… sounds like sure to You? Actually I believe they’re using the same technique to generate sound, the in- ears also come with exchangeable foams BUT the price--- ah, judge for Yourself…

cheers, mat!-)
