MacBook disc drive not accepting discs

My mac has never had trouble accepting discs until tonight. I tried to insert a standard DVD into the slot loading drive and it feels jammed, but I am positive there is nothing in there! Any suggestions on what could be wrong/how to fix it? Thanks.

Try doing this, start up your macbook with a mouse plugged in. Hold down the mouse the entire time. If there is a disc in there this should eject it.

If this doesn’t work open up Disk Utility in your Utilities folder and see if a CD shows up. If it does, hit eject.

If these don’t work I suggest calling Apple Care or heading down to your local Apple store.

Will people be able to buy it as a standalone/unlocked device from Apple itself (with no ATT contract of whatsoever) ?
