for what its worth:
I quit playing World of Warcraft. I was in the open beta and played until a week agor. i have a level 59 NE hunter and I wont play again. It sucks time away from other pursuits so easily. No, i have so much more time to spend with family, work on the house, learn new things.
When i was playing, if i had some “free” time, i would play WoW. Its amazing t me how much time you can “waste” playing a game.

Man, in the past I would have been able to say the same thing (inserting other games in place of WoW)
But now I just use games to take up my free time at work.

That happened to me with EQ, it was my first mmorpg. WoW is so easy that folks are burning out much more quickly compared to other games I have played. I am trying to hang on to see what content Blizzard is going to add in the expansion. So far the end game content they aded for free was pretty cool. The game is not quite a year old and I already have a 60, a 57 and 6 more above 40, thats all the classes available to the alliance side. Don’t know how much longer I can play before I lose interest.

I had a good stint w/Diablo II. I’ll only get into things that have a finite universe and an ending… other than Quake III Arena that is…

FPS games draw alot of time as well! I remember back in the days when Counter-Strike Beta 1.0 was released for windows.
My friends and I were playing on 4 computers. We would get home from school, play, eat dinner, play and then brush our teeth and say good night. It was alot of fun

it can eat away at your life if you let it, since I stopped just defaulting to “log into wow” with every spare moment I’ve actualy had time to read and teach myself things again, heck even see RL friends 0_o
gotta say no diss to guildies but RL friends are way better

Gaming really wastes a lot of time. The worst thing about it is that you gain absolutely nothing!
