Hey, hi, and I a so glad to find your forum.
We have a four-year-old G3 laptop that two years ago had a video card crash, requiring replacement of logic board. Luckily it was under recall, I think, so it was replaced for free. Does anyone know of ongoing problems that means Apple/Mac is still replacing these? Our extended warranty lapsed last year. Thoughts?
I don’t particularly trust the local Apple store, because on the first go-round they said it couldn’t be fixed under warranty, nor were they “aware” of the recall. If it weren’t for the tech department at our University, two years ago we would’ve flipped that laptop. Today I don’t want to flip it, I’d rather just get it fixed but I know it’s not worth the expense unless the warranty was extended with the new logic board, or that it might still be under recall. Anyone know how to find out? We’re traveling right now, far from our receipts and other info we might’ve had.
