I was browsing through the Parallels site and stumbled across Parallels Desktop Premium - quite a surprise for me.
The fact is, that it is the same Parallels Desktop 3.0 with all typical features + three apps: including Acronis Disk Director Suite (have never used it before and don’t know how it works), ATIH (Acronis True Image Home - a great backing-up feature by Acronis - I’ve used a few times) and Kaspersky (which is famous). They say that you’ll save a lot of $$ on each of these additional apps.
My personal attitude towards this move by Parallels is positive. It will be of great use, if you need these apps, of course. Otherwise there’s nо need to upgrade - but I’d get ATIH, it is good!
Here, they have made comparison of Standard and Premium edition here. It is rather simple: the only difference are those apps, so you don’t lose anything not upgrading. But gain something if you do

Thank you, 33specter, for this info, very useful for me.  I’m going to buy mac and I want to run windows on it.  I’ve heard about parallels - but not so much.

I see you like it. Could you tell me more about it… I need buy parallels and that’s it? Will Windows run then? Is the speed normal as on usual PC?

Parallels Desktop lets you run Windows on your Mac simultaneously with Mac OS. The app works great, Windows works several percent faster than on an average PC. Windows works on Macs natively, so you will not have any problems running different Windows-only software. For more information visit the link I posted above. Come back with any questions, I already have some experience in using Parallels + XP.
