I’m approaching the one year anniversary of my first Mac purchase: a 15” Powerbook. I’ve had such a positive experience that it began a landslide change in the web development company I work for. Within a couple months of my purchase the small company switched all desktops from Linux to Mac Minis. My boss also switched laptops to a Powerbook.
I was a Windows user for over 15 years. Over time I came to dislike it more and more. I switched to Linux and never looked back. Then after 5 or so years of Linux I got tired of “managing” my desktop. I wanted a computer that Just Worked (TM). I was also in the mood to switch to a laptop. After hearing Apple made the best laptop hardware I read a lot about OS X and was sold. Now after a year I can say I’ve been far more productive than ever. And OS X works quite well with our Linux server development so there’s literally nothing holding me back.
Today I recommend Macs to everyone. With the Mini I can finally recommend a cheap Mac to every computer user I run into. I’m happy to share one more positive story with everyone.
