My Beef with my iMac, Apple and “Authorized Resellers”.

This is a current story about my best friend, my iMac G5, became a little sick.
First it started with a few minor and insignificant burps with apps and other things. I thought the burps would go away in a day or two, and in some way it did. Then one morning I booted up my compy to a dead blue screen and cursor.
Imagine the chiding I got from my PC friends when they discovered my computer crashed to a blue screen; a veritable BSOD on the mac!
After legthy discussions with Apple Techs over the phone, an archive and install, a reinstall and then an erase and install the problem appeared fixed. It took me a week to retrun my computer to normal only to have it crash again to the MBSOD (Mac Blue Screen of Death).
I called Apple Tech again… after the installs, wipes and archiving, I still had a MBSOD.
I needed “Authorized Service”.
Shit.
I am at school in a small town in Ontario and I’m sure I don’t need to tell you of scarcity of Apple Stores in Canada (How many are there in Canada? Two? Both in Toronto. Useless.)
Granted, Toronto is only about an hour and a half drive from where I, but t am, that might as well be across the ocean during essay/exam period at University.
I needed to fix my computer, the closest “Authorized Service” centre was a place downtown. They told me it would be approximately a week.
Fine.
Today, I called them (A week and a day from the day I took it in) and they told me the part they ordered in for my computer was defective and they needed to order a new one!

This is the SECOND time I’ve had my iMac’s Major Logic Board replaced. Choosing the Apple Care Protection Plan was the the smartest thing I’ve ever done; but should my computer be falling apart at the seams a year after purchase? I love my mac and I’ll never go back to a PC… but I’m starting to wonder about Apple… and my iMac and these so-called “Authorized Service” characters. I think that those working on my mac at this reseller place, are none too smart and they might be barking up the wrong tree about my Logic Board; but then I’m no computer tech.
What are your thoughts and and experiences with your macs?
I guess I’m just looking for people with similar problems and their solutions.

Thanks.

Yea I have had similar problems with my Mac Book Pro. I have had so many problems with it. I am actually on my third one because of that. The first one had a problem with the right speaker buzzing constantly. The second one had a completely dead shift key. And I have even had problems with the one I have now. First the super drive would not accept CDs regularly. What I ended up having to do was bring it to the Apple store and they recomended sending it back to the place that I bought it from. I did not want to go through the trouble of transfering all of my files again so I got the Apple store to just replace the super drive. That solved that problem. Then with the same one I have today I had yet another problem. The body of it has warped. I know crazy right. It does not sit flat when you put it down on a surface. So I have my share of problems with my Macs, but I still will NEVER EVER go back to windows.
