RadioSherpa (which I work for) recently released a new Apple Dashboard widget. This Dashboard widget allows users to play all their favorite broadcast radio stations via a single widget. Whether the stream is an MP3 or WMP stream...the RadioSherpa widget will handle. Better yet, the widget includes a real-time guide which shows you what songs or talk programs are currently playing. The idea being that you know what you will listen to before actually loading the stream.
With all the news around HD Radio, we figured this would be a good way to try out some of the new HD2 stations without paying for a new radio...at least not yet. Also, it is great because the RadioSherpa Widget is tied to your iTunes store.
I would be interested in people’s thoughts on the widget and online radio. We are currently covering the Boston, New York and San Francisco markets...but we are looking for feedback from Mac Users before expanding our service. It is not exactly easy for our two-person team to keep expanding, so feedback would be appreciated.
The widget can be obtained at the following URL:
