Dell is at it again with their crazy dreams of cracking into the iPod marketshare.
Read about the DJ Ditty here
I don’t know about you, but Apple is probably shaking in their boots.

Incidentally, first this was called Puff Ditty. Then it got changed to DJ Ditty. Next year it will just be Ditty.

What i really want to know about this is if Diddy is going to be promoting it?  I mean maybe we can call it the Sean John DJ or something like that?  Maybe they can get boost mobile on it too, ha ha

Too little, too late!

Dell’s really the Wal-Mart of MP3 players.  You buy one from them because you’re only looking at the price, not whether it’s actually good.

And Sean John won’t be getting a Dell DJ anytime soon, I think… he has that crystal-laden HP iPod for his music!

Interesting comment - wal mart of mp3 players...so does that make Apple the Gap of MP3 players? or would you say a more premium brand - cause i dont know....i mean it wouldn’t be the prada of mp3 players - i would say B&O;as that

I look forward to your take on the new Mac OS release, BM.  “Apple is at it again with their crazy dreams of cracking into the Windows marketshare.  I don’t know about you, but Microsoft is probably shaking in their boots.”

You would think that decades of single digit marketshare and criticism of M$’s monopoly would humble some users, but this kind of attitude makes me almost glad Apple isn’t on top in the OS war.  Can you imagine how insufferable that would be?

As for the DJ Ditty, I didn’t see a photo on that site, but that’s got to be the worst name of a product ever.  If it looks anything like the Dell Digital Jukebox, however, it shouldn’t be all that bad.  It’s decent.  Not great, but decent.  And unlike some competitors of the iPod, it’s actually reasonably priced.

Ah Beeblebrox, thats the difference.

I would never say that comment about the Mac OS. I don’t see the release of Tiger (or any future release) as a way to crack MS marketshare. I see it as a way to provide an efficient OS for those who prefer Apple hardware.

never in a million years would I want to see Mac OS running on a PC.

It’s 512 mb. $99. So is the shuffle. So that’s not even cheaper.

Oh, but wait… It’s got a screen and an FM tuner. Well, never mind then. wink

No kidding.  That’s my point.  Even though the comparison is the same, you’d never make snide comments about Apple and marketshare the way you do about other products competing with the iPod.  It’s that hypocrisy that I was pointing out.

You don’t have to wait a million years.  They should be out in about six months.

And you don’t think Apple’s goal is to gain marketshare?  That’s interesting given their big “switcher” campaign.  Yep, Apple and their crazy dreams of cracking into that Windows marketshare.  Microsoft is probably shaking in their boots, right?

Do you have any evidence of this? Or are you just making things up now?

Where the hell have you been?  They are actually running on PC’s now, but I’m really referring to the official release of OS X86.

I think he means PCs not manufactured by Apple. And I am aware of illegally running OS X on PCs, but that doesn’t count since it was nnot what it was intended for.
