After discovering the joy of actually using Airport Express w/ USB printing and AirTunes—now I want it all!

A PowerBook with a screen that detaches w/ its own battery and touch screen - wirelessly connected to the base. I can then use for TV/Movies/TiVo2Go/Web/Email.

That would be sweet.

So kind of like a Powerbook/Tablet PC?

sure, Apple’s innovative take on the tablet. Another benefit would be the ease of upgrade. The screen is nearly half the price of a laptop, but is the last thing that needs to be upgraded. You just keep the screen, upgrade the PowerBook “base” and viola! a new computer.

And while we’r at it: what about having the base modular. so that you can swap components like adding an extra battery instead of an optical drive or adding an extra hard drive, or even adding a second processor!

yeah, all this would be sweet.

oka, upgrading the “base” computer without getting a new screen would be so great. the prices will go down and mac would
“charm” a better slice (part) of the public.
by the way i didnt knew that the screen was half of the price of the laptop itself.

There are just so many problems with Tablet PCs, I dunno if even Apple can’t make it worthwhile. I see people all the time, that have Tablet PCs, but still use the keyboard and mouse input.

Considering that Apple is so closed they should make tablet like stuff and most everything else. But of course they keep their product line pretty sparse (ie phase out mac mini and regular iPod).

I wouldn’t be suprised to see an Apple tablet. They could lose a big chunk of the education market to if tablets continue to gain popularity with the k-12 bunch.

They phased out the iPod mini NOT the Mac mini!
