This isn’t my set-up, but the monthly MacFormat magazine I buy (three months old thanks to sea-mail) has a “Me & My Mac” page in it and the latest issue has a “Design Student” who lives in what appears to be a posh appartment and has all of the following equipment:
- Apple PowerMac
- Apple 30” and 23” monitors
- Apple 12” and 15” PowerBooks (15” belongs to his girlfriend)
- Apple Mac Mini (used as a media centre)
- Apple’s wireless keyboard and mouse
- three external hard drives
- some external speakers with sub
- nine Apple iPods (various models including U2 , Shuffle and four Minis)
It’s set-up on a rough-sawn-look wooden desk (probably expensive even though looks cheap) with an expensive Aeron Herman Miller chair.
And this guy is supposedly a student?!?! Plus he’s has only been using Macs for 18 months!
Evidently he does travel “a lot” back to Taiwan from England, so he or his family must have bulging bank accounts.

That student is so unreasonable rich, it annoys me.

That is rediculous. I am a student and I can only dream of things like that. If i had that i would never leave my dorm.

Apart from iPhoto (presumably he has a digital camera too) and iLife, it doesn’t even mention what software there might be.

If they were drug dealers he would not need an education.

Why would you even need 9 iPods? Or 2 PowerBooks?
It’s excessive even for a professional, much less a student.

It’s cheaper to buy one of the multi-coloured iPod skin packs (plus you wouldn’t have to keep juggling the syncing of multiple iPods).

I am not a huge fan of the skins. I have a blue one but it makes my ipod look kind of cheap. Maybe I just haven’t found a good skin yet.
