i hate the fact that nirvana became a big success in the music industry just because cobain killed himself, i think it was pure marketing. and i hate T.a.t.U. because they gain popularuty on the charts for kissing each other, and in the end they one of them (tatu girls) got pregnant of their bass player.
i repeat, Cobain’s death is pure marketing.

Ah ha!! Oh my God that’s good.

Why aren’t my albums selling? Ohh, I know!! I’ll kill myself

Makes A LOT of sense!! Especially considering they were successful before Cobain’s death. Nice one!!

Well, that’s certainly not true.  You’re probably a young’un and don’t remember this, but Nirvana was HUGE in the early ‘90s, long before Cobain’s suicide.

I think the theme of this thread should be “believing something fictional about someone and then hating them for it.”

I agree Beebs. I don’t know how old you guys are but Nirvana was way more popular during Cobain’s living years than after his death.

I don’t want to offend anyone, but this is becoming a pointless argument, Although I do agree with Beebs.

I agree that it’s pointless, but it’s not really an “argument.” Some guy hates a band for a reason that turns out to be completely untrue.  Unfortunately, that kind of ignorance is rampant, particularly on the internet.

That’s why I made the dog comment, hate seemed a tad overboard. Unfortunately, “I hate” has become a catch phrase for expressing all kinds of dislike. My younger daughter went through a phase of “hating” anything she didn’t want at that moment. If I said I was cooking chicken and she didn’t want it, she replied, “I hate chicken”. Nevermind that she ate it two nights ago. It drove me nuts. You might try myspace for your hate list.

On another note I remember reading a funny story about a hairband that shared a label with Nirvana back during the big change over, I believe it was Poison but I cannot remember. Everything was going great selling lots of records, a kind of flagship band for the label. Behind the receptionist desk there was a huge poster of the band. One day they go into the lobby of the building and their poster had been replaced by a huge poster of Nirvana. You know the rest.
