Apple kowtowing to Cingular?
It is no big deal for one company to get the upper hand when negotiating wwith another company. Cingular claims that Apple bowed to demands. Thing is, Cingular blows. Check out this quote from the article:
‘While “there are bad guys out there that unlock phones,” Lurie said, Apple and Cingular are taking unspecified steps to make the phone more difficult to unlock and use on other GSM carriers in the US.’
Bad guys? Is he talking about people who takes phones acquired legally, phones that people had to live up to a service contract to get and then open said phone so they can be used in a manner that the owners of said phone wish to use it? Man, what a tool. If Cingular doesn’t work out Lurie can always get a job with the RIAA.
Oh, Stan Sigman just called and wanted people to know that Cingular will be AT&T and that AT&T will be the new Cingular and that in the future the company now known as Cingular will be known as AT&T. Something about capitalizing on the synergies of mindshare momentum while not disenfranchising the user of the current modalities…
