  • Being once a customer service representative, it's important to acknowledge the presence of a customer walking in the store. Even a casual nod or a simple 'hi!' would suffice. Every walk-in is a potential buyer (possibly a potential switcher?), and a simple greeting could go a long way, for whatever reasons said customer walks in the store. Maybe their sales training put too much emphasis on memorization of new hardware specs and overlooked the customer service greeting portion? Though I'd have to say that in most of the stores I've entered, the lack of customer service was because all the sales associates were busy. Regardless, I still browse to those Apple stores, especially when the girlfriend is shopping in Ann Taylor next door!
