Review: iAttire iPod ‘Clothing’

by James Bain Aug 25, 2006

I cannot claim that the accessories iAttire makes for iPods are practical, but they are fun. And as such are eminently worthwhile.

I guess the easiest way to describe what iAttire does is that they make doll clothes for iPods, all sorts of iPods. There have Fairy Princess costumes for your Mini, Pirate costumes for your Nano, Bunny costumes for your Video, Mummy costumes for your Shuffle and Cowboy costumes for your 4G. And lots and lots more.

I got to try on a pair of cute y-front briefs for my iPod Video which, surprisingly enough, fit underneath the Bunny suit they sent as well. Awe-Some!

The Japanese have a word for this, ‘kawaii’, which means cute, excruciatingly cute. And all the iAttire line are.

Yeah, I like bulletproof iPod cases and $1000 high performance earphones, but right now my iPod Video is wearing its briefs and bunny suit and, you know, that’s kind of neat as well.

The iAttire creations are all well-made and hand-crafted. The great quality and imagination put into these designs shows quite clearly. These things are definitely labors of love.

Their price per costume varies, but full costumes tend to be around $39.99, with free shipping in the US. So, I suggest you check out their site right now [click here] and I dare you not to at least be seriously tempted to slam down a couple twenties for a Floral Hula costume or a Negligee for your iPod.

Now that I’ve seen them I can’t imagine not owning at least one character costume for my iPod. Yeah, it’s weird, but there you are.

As a result, if I had to give their products a score, it’d be a nice big 90%.
