Winner of Custom Engraved iPod

by Hadley Stern Apr 09, 2006

To kick off our This Day in Apple History feature we ran a contest. And we have a winner of the first prize, a brand new 30g iPod custom engraved by the MAKE magazine labs with Apple’s original logo.

The winner, Kathy Sacco lives in Clearwater, Florida. She “is a long time Mac User-started back in the early nineties. Got my first Mac in ‘94 (Performa 450). I now have a 20 Inch iMac that I love…and I’ve been wanting an iPod forever. I’m married, have two boys, and work for a large defense contractor. I enjoy digital photography, reading, and thrift shopping.”

Congrats to Kathy on her new iPod. Because this is going to be custom made in the MAKE labs it’ll take a couple of weeks or so, but once you have it you will have a one-of-a-kind iPod. We are still waiting to hear from the two runner ups.

If you haven’t yet, make sure to check out the unique, This Day in Apple History project. Every day we publish what happened this day in Apple’s history here, have a daily podcast,  and a daily email.

Finally, don’t forget to check out our fantabulous widget, with three GUIs, OS X, classic, and Newton. And if you want to add This Day to your site check out our easy-to-use sitelet.

Congrats, Kathy!
