    10 Essential Mac Apps
  • Note about uninstalling an application if you want to keep the preferences: when you drag the specific app into AppZapper you can deselect the files you want to keep. If you zap it then you'll see that AppZapper deleted everything but the file you deselected.

    AppZapper
  • This could mean that, when the "ordinary" apps such as email, word processing, iphoto, programming,... (most of them already exist) can be ran on the internet, that we only need an internet connection and a low-budget computer since it's all done on the web...

Why Apple Needs the Web 2.0 Revolution
  • I'm using this "app" for my school project (together with 2 others) and it's the best thing on the net! So easy! You can compare it with FinalDraft, which works in similar way.

The Apple Store - No Place for Kids
  • We are indeed spoiled as viperteq says. But don't we like it? Some Maccers expect too much from this company. We all need to be realistic. I don't care if it's a powerbook, mackbook pro or babybook... As long as it works the Apple way I'm happy. Btw, perfection doesn't exist (everybody has his own idea about it) so don't blame Apple for not being perfect.

Apple fans: We're a weird mob
  • Price is indeed the same as other OEM's notebooks. The only thing I don't like is that prices aren't the same in all continents. European ones are almost 1/4 more expensive!!! I don't understand this, we aren't living in 18th century. Why else do we have cross rates? Damn, I hate this so much. The U.S. isn't the only country on the globe! HELL, APPLE DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!!!

Apple Unveils New iMac with Intel Core Duo Processor
  • An addition to my second option: Apple will also produce their own hardware. So you could buy Apple hardware from Apple, Dell, HP,...

    Dell Macs
  • To reply on-topic: I think that Apple won't license their operating system AT THIS MOMENT. Why? * they make to much profit on their hardware * they have a bad experience with it * Steve Jobs * it's too early (they need to wait a bit too evaluate the change to Intel) Maybe, in a couple of years, they will license it. But S.J. is THE factor. As we've seen with the change to Intel, he can decide at any moment to go in another direction. What if Apple does license OSX? I think there are two possibilities: * All hardware (computers, not the iPods) goes to the OEM's (Dell, HP,...) and Apple themselves will stop creating their own computers. Still, they will monitor the situation and they will decide what models have the authority to run OSX (specs,...). * Apple does give OEM's the possibility to pre-install OSX on their machines but the computers will need to meet specifications determined by Apple. They will be as expensive as the Apple machines. But I hope Apple does not license OSX, I would only buy a non-apple product if it looks as hot as Apple's (design, etc.).

Win A Custom Engraved 5G iPod, Newton, or Apple II
  • Indeed, it would be so great to win the iPod! What a magnificent engravement (do I say this right?)!!! It would be my first one (since I have no money). It's not only the prizes, I think it's a great initiative too. Apple history. There's much to talk about... Hmmm....

  • I don't think Nintendo Revolution will be that big of a success. Mainly because there's no advertisement enough when comparing to Sony PS3 and MS Xbox 360. The best will be Sony, again, I think...

James's Top 10 List of Everything for 2005
  • James Thank for explaining that so well, but I think I asked the wrong question. In the article you are talking about the Windows code wich is old and because all Windows Os's are based on them it's too long. Now I would like to know how Apple handles this. Because of what you explain in your article I can't imagine Apple to use the same method. What happens with the Tiger-code when Leopard is in development? Do they start from scratch every time? Thank you

  • Can someone explain me how OSX is made up? Is it backwards compatable too? Is there code that makes no sens? I don't understand that at all... Btw, what font is this? I like it very much.
