The spending bill has passed in the House by an ever-so-slim margin, marking a significant milestone in the minds of Speaker Pelosi et al. The $124 billion spending bill, among other items, sets political benchmarks for the Iraqi government and makes an explicit withdrawal date for U.S. troops around summer of 2008. It’s anyone’s guess on the bill’s fate in the Senate, but very clear that one peeved Commander-in-Chief will show that he really does know how to….....

  • With a new Democratic congress (ie non-rubber-stamping), I have a feeling he’ll go from having used the veto once in six years (for stem-cell research of all things) to stamping that Veto like a Rastafarian bongo player at happy hour.

    I also imagine that Republicans will suddenly remember how much they hate government spending after six years of shelling out the green like Donald Trump at a Reno whore house.

  • Indeed, as soon as it’s not their earmarks and mega pork you can bet the guise of “conservatism” will revive within their recent collective freeloading ethos.

    ....and I’ll bet a wooden nickel Donald not only patronizes, but owns, several such highbrow “establishments”.........
