What Dashboard is missing

by Chris Seibold Apr 30, 2005

Got around to buying Tiger today. I installed it without backing up (that note just to make back up maniacs out there cringe) and had no problems. It’s a pretty substantial update and my machines do feel snappier. So far dashboard is my favorite new feature but it’s missing a must have widget: TV listings. So if you know where I can score a TV listing widget drop me a line. Thanks.

Oh, and the new mail is uglier than my baby pictures (hard to believe but true)

  • I just installed Tiger yesterday, and I agree the TV listing widget would be awesome.

Also I cannot configure Mail to my hotmail account!  Someone please help me.  I need the “incoming mail server” name and it is driving me insane! (I have MSN premium or whatever it is called, the one where you pay $20 a year)

email me at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) if you can help

  • Don’t thank me. Thank the author ‘ebustaman’. I also know there are a few moew people working on TV listing widgets, so you may have a range to choose from soon.

  • moew? I meant ‘more’

    I guess Tiger doesn’t have auto-anti-dyslexia features.

  • Hey guys!

I thank you all for supporting my widget, WhatsOn.  I too believe that Dashboard was missing this critical widget, so I took it upon myself to start building it.  WhatsOn is most definitely a work in progress and I’d like to take the moment to show you where WhatsOn is headed:

A beta release (100% functional, but not completely polished) will be available before Monday.  BTW, I take user suggestions very seriously, so if you are looking for something that you think should be there, please contact me.  Thanks again guys!

  • How about adding support for EyeTV - similar to the old Watson program? Since it was sold to Sun, I sure do miss it.

  • I’d like a MovieFone type Widget that would save your favorite theatres so you could always check what’s playing and when.

  • That would be a nice widget Ezra. I suspect that ebustaman could whip that one up if he was inclined to. Maybe if we all ask real nice he’ll add it to his list.
